Position Details: 

The Coordinator for Early Language and Literacy ELL Intervention Support is responsible for the development, implementation, leadership and coordination of the early language literacy program for Head Start and Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) teachers and staff. The coordinator analyzes, assesses, interprets, and collects literacy data for the purpose of improving readiness and literacy skills. Works in cooperation with the program administrators, Education Manager and Early Childhood Specialists to implement and monitor Teaching Strategies Gold and other literacy, writing and language assessment results.  The coordinator trains/coaches teachers and staff in the utilization of research based strategies/interventions to improve student reading and assessment outcomes through a MTSS framework.  The coordinator will act as a liaison between early childhood programs and services and the Education and Learning Department.
One (1) full-time position available; 35 hours per week.

Master's degree in language arts or reading required.  Valid Michigan teacher certificate required; endorsement in reading preferred.

Three years of successful classroom teaching experience required; five years preferred.  Experience in facilitation/training skills.  Demonstrated experience in working with university personnel, local school district administrators, teachers, students, and parents.
