Position Details:

  1. BA in journalism, communications or marketing preferred.
  2. Demonstrate ability to write and effectively communicate information in a variety of formats and to multiple audiences.
  3. Must possess flexibility in responding to multiple tasks, determining priorities and meeting numerous deadlines.
  4. Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a variety of situations.
  5. Must demonstrate strong technology skills that support communication processes.
  6. Must possess strong presentation skills.
  7. Experience with multiple social media platforms.


  1. Produce content for various platforms, including but not limited to, printed publications, electronic publications, website and social media sites.
  2. Photograph district events for publications and displays.
  3. Assist with video productions.
  4. Write and distribute news releases, editorial pieces and columns for use by media.
  5. Assist with all aspects of event planning and execution.
  6. Support requests submitted under the Freedom of Information Act.
  7. Encourage parent engagement through various communications tools.
  8. Support state requirements for annual reporting.
  9. Provide support for HVS legislative advocacy.
  10. Support communications and marketing goals of the school district.
  11. Support fund development activities.

Reports to the Director of Communications and Community Relations. Competitive salary and benefits package. 

Possess the ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field.  Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Possess the knowledge to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

The noise level in the work environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day. The employee is frequently required to interact with the public and other staff.  The employee is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.  Occasionally the employee may be required to be outdoors for periods of time, and therefore subject to varying weather conditions, for purposes of accomplishing the essential functions of this job.
