Position Details: 

Bauer Elementary Principal


  • Interacts with students in a constructive manner to encourage each individual to perform at their highest level.
  • Acts as the educational leader for the building.
  • Assign teachers to classrooms and students to classes.
  • Evaluates performance and effectiveness of programs and staff.
  • Coordinates professional development for staff.
  • Promotes positive relations with parents, parent groups, school volunteers, and outside agencies.
  • Participates in district-wide activities, professional development days, and committees, as appropriate.
  • Implements policy and procedure changes from the Board, or the State and Federal level at the building level.  Reports appropriately to staff and to community on Public Act 25.
  • Works with the Assistant Superintendent for Finance on budgeting/purchasing.
  • Establishes priorities for educational materials to meet the needs of students and teachers.
  • Works with Central Office personnel to coordinate processes for the effective functioning of the school.
  • Maintains a current educational/administrative certificate.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Master's Degree, three years successful teaching experience.
  • Valid Teaching Certificate and valid Administrators Certificate with an elementary school endorsement or equivalent.
  • Three years of teaching experience preferably at the elementary level.
