Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Service coordination and provider for Early Childhood Special Education children.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork related to Early Childhood Special Education children including individualized education plan, integrative reports, attendance and contact logs.
  • Plan and facilitate community playgroups.
  • Plan curriculum, develop lessons and provide instruction based on individual student needs.
  • Document student progress through ongoing assessment.
  • Complete and maintain documentation of services in accordance with district policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team in an inclusive or home setting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education and Early Childhood Education. Special Education and Early Childhood Certification is required.
  • Classroom experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with administrators, staff, agencies, the community, students and families as a teacher in center-based and home-based situations.
  • Possess organizational ability, self-directedness and initiative.
  • Experience working in early childhood education.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Requires exceptional oral and written communication skills.  Basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.

Will consider all applicants with a valid teaching certificate with a special education endorsement that are willing to obtain their early childhood certification
OR
applicants with a valid early childhood teaching certificate willing to obtain a special education endorsement. 

 

Employment Date, Salary and Work Year

Anticipated start date will be determined upon hire.  Salary is determined as per the master contract.  Work days will be 185 days pro-rated for the remainder of the contract year.  This posting will be open for two weeks and if a suitable candidate can not be found, it will be open until filled.  EOE
