Position Details: 

Walled Lake Consolidated Schools is currently advertising the following position:
Effective 2018-19 School Year

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in school administration or related educational field (training should include areas of school administration, supervision, curriculum, and child development)
  • Must possess valid Michigan administrator certification, or meet the state school administration continuing education requirements
  • At least five (5) years of successful teaching experience at the Middle School level (Secondary level)

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of administrative experience or substantial experience at the middle school level in a variety of leadership roles

Job Responsibilities?

  • Serves as lead administrator in the absence of the principal.
  • Interacts with students to encourage positive performance specifically related to the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Assists with Instructional activities including budget, teacher observation, candidate interviews, master schedule, and textbook distribution.
  • Acts as first liaison to the coaching staff and assists in the scheduling of athletic events.
  • Assists with the planning and coordination of all assemblies, after school events, etc.
  • Assists with staff personnel functions including interviewing, hiring, and evaluating.
  • Manages building staff, including class schedules, and building concerns.
  • Supervises staff attendance and assignment of substitute teachers.
  • Assists in the supervision of building maintenance and organizes and supervises building security.
  • Work with school staff to monitor student attendance, truancy, 504 plans, and building emergency/crisis plans
  • Provides general supervision to students. 
  • Supervises extra-curricular activities.           
  • Participates in various meetings, councils, and committees within the District.
  • Maintains relationship with parents and community.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Salary Range:   $80,633 – $109,575 / Annual Work Days:  213
