Position Details: 

Job Summary:  The Director of Career Technical Education (CTE) is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing career technical education programs/services and the Career Preparation System for Genesee County. The Director will provide leadership in curriculum development and maintenance for all Genesee Career Institute (GCI) programs ensuring the curriculum meets state approved CTE standards. The Director will develop and implement professional development to ensure CTE teachers and programs in Genesee County stay current in the latest changes at the state and federal level and will assist teachers as they strive to improve their curriculum and delivery of instruction. The Director is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing the Genesee County Career and Technical Education Early Middle College (GC CTE EMC). The Director will be responsible for coordinating the development/update of articulation agreements/programs of study for CTE programs in Genesee County and will maintain a database that reflects the articulation agreements.  The Director serves as a resource to local district administrators, boards of education, shared-time career technical coordinators, businesses, agencies and non-profit organizations. The Director will provide additional support and/or leadership in a variety of district and county projects.

Available: 
One (1) full-time position. Start date 7/1/19.

Salary: 
Administrative salary; commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree required. Valid Michigan teacher certificate required with full vocational authorization required. Must have completed career technical education courses for administration, supervision and organization of career technical education programs. Meet the Michigan Department of Education school administrator continuing education requirement.

Experience:  Five years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience. Administrative experience preferred.
