Position Details: 

JOB SUMMARY:     The Director of Contractor Services and Capital Projects reports to the Superintendent or his designee.  This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the District in relation to contracted services by outside parties.  The Director will also assist other administrators in an advisory capacity regarding operational procedures that are required to be implemented that affect District operations, and compliance by internal and outside parties on Federal, State and local laws and regulations.  

 

                                   

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but not be limited to):

  • Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. other administrators, architects, contractors, auditors, public agencies, community members, etc.) for the purpose of planning, implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
  • Oversees and verifies that all contracted service agreements (maintenance and grounds, transportation and food services) are adhered to and completed in a timely fashion.
  • Assists in the direction, development and evaluation of building projects including repair, renovations, remodeling and new construction.
  • Inspects all school buildings, grounds, and installations on a regular basis to determine that high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, safety and security are maintained.
  • Monitors budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits, and/or fiscal practices are followed.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Provides a wide variety of written materials (e.g. facility records, correspondence, memos, reports, policies/procedures, budgets, etc.)
  • Assists in negotiations with third party contractors, as directed.
  • Assists in developing a vision for the operations of the District, short and long range planning, as well as scheduling of maintenance and repair requirements for the District.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with community organizations, vendors, and all district stakeholders by proactively planning and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Communicates regularly with buildings and department administrators in regards to issues and concerns regarding third party contractors.
  • Manages and oversees the building use, in conjunction with the Athletic Director, by ensuring that District policies and procedures are followed.
  • Confers on a regular basis with upper management regarding initiatives and long-term operational effectiveness and planning.
  • Oversees and manages, with outside contractors, utility purchasing, monitoring, and mechanical efficiency of District operations.
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Minimal Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; prefer education preparation in building engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Demonstrates good judgment; approachable and professional; solid problem-solving skills; self-motivated; well organized.
  • Experience in managing and enforcing service level agreements and contracts for outsourced services.
  • Demonstrated success in monitoring budgets, financial monitoring and cost analysis techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction, and have a collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done.
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
  • Knowledge of government contract management as well as knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management, implementing best practices.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel and Word, with willingness to learn additional programs.
  • Other qualifications as deemed acceptable by the Board of Education

 

 

 

Compensation:       $88,217 - $99,585 Commensurate with experience

                                   

Contract:                  Central Office contract

 

Work Year:               52-weeks

 

Evaluation:               This position will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent of Schools
